I work where AI agents already do real work at scale. Being that close gives me a duty to understand what mass adoption will do to people, and a moral ceiling I intend to keep.

Why a foundation

The Good Foundation is my family's foundation. It carries our name and a mission meant to outlast any of us: advance humanity. The programs will change with each generation's frontier, and the mission will stay the same.

This generation's frontier is Artificial Intelligence, and I happen to work at its outer edge. That made the Foundation's first big program an easy call. The Good Institute is where our family's long view meets the most urgent question of right now.

Good Health came from closer to home. When someone I love got hard news, I built a tool to help our family understand the records and ask better questions. I kept one line clear from the start: clinicians make the decisions. That tool is now a program of the Foundation.

Good Forensics came from watching someone I know try to get digital forensics help and hit a murky wall — expensive firms, private investigators who stall on intake, and people with the least money locked out while account stalking and divorce-related tampering keep rising. We wrapped the Forens engine as a free Foundation program so a library computer is enough.

PS STREETS came from the same streets where we already hand out care packs. Palm Springs is well run, and still leaves neighbors without a roof; the counts run low, and the housing answer has not kept faith with the people living under it. Idle city land at the airport edge is where a better standard can start.

Good Nature: intent locked, no land titled. Same instinct, land-side: buy a mountain worth renaming Good Mountain for wild mustangs at true scale, and lock forest parcels as bird sanctuaries so canopy stays canopy. Two pillars. Next gate: mountain shortlist of five.

Good Edu: doctrine locked. Civic AI literacy — myth desk, lectures, kits — so youth to elderly can feel competent about AI without fear marketing. It is not Academy. Academy is the research-tied ladder. GoodAI is named under Edu as a future free on-ramp with a public moral floor and ceiling.

Good Business sits under the Foundation — not beside it. In-house counsel from Good Gustafson from day one. Commercial real estate is the family's wheelhouse — decades of work behind us — and we take the time to get it right. The first named venture is Good Tobacco: leaf triple-washed like produce, built for cigars and pipe, judged by people who already smoke them. We are proud of that standard.

Why the Institute exists

Entropy Index is where I build. I'm COO alongside Travis Hanes, with a small core team and agent systems that compound across our OS and product. When you work that deep in it, you end up feeling responsible for what it does.

Mass adoption is already underway. Artificial Intelligence will work its way into judgment, school, livelihoods, and the household. Someone has to read the frontier carefully before false calm or fear marketing take over the story.

The Good Institute is that reading, done in public. We research six areas. Good Edu carries public literacy; Good Academy turns what we learn into tracks.

03

What I am responsible for

I set the research agenda across six areas, and the six public concerns we watch: everyday judgment leaving the person, kids meeting AI without a ladder, work and identity stress, companion dependence, home agents without rules, and fear marketing.

Teaching without a civic layer is incomplete, and research without teaching is incomplete. Good Edu is awareness and first competence for every age. Good Academy is the ladder — Rocket, Moonshot, Happy — get comfortable first, then make AI work for you while keeping your own judgment.

What we publish is reviewed. Acute distress belongs with licensed clinicians. Good Health, the Foundation's personal health record program, is kept separate; by policy, family health data is never used for research. The Institute studies patterns; it does not diagnose or treat.

04

Moral ceiling

Being capable and being good are different things. Tools this strong amplify whatever intent drives them, and that simple fact sits behind this whole Institute.

Here is the ceiling I hold myself to in public: don't sell fear, don't blur research and care, don't call autopilot readiness, don't skip the next generation because adult product stories are easier, and never treat power as permission.

Entropy Index is where I build. The Good Institute is how I take responsibility for where that building leads.

05

How I work with AI, and what it means here

At Entropy Index a small core team runs interlocking systems (OS, product, and research) with a shifting fleet of agents underneath. On quiet days that's a handful. When the work is live, it's more than 1,000 at once, and the pace multiplies what a few people can do. That's how I build, and it raises a harder question: what happens when working this way becomes ordinary for everyone?

The Institute runs on the same rule. Tools help us gather signal and write drafts, and people decide what we believe and what we publish. Judgment stays with humans.

For Good.
For generations.
